When we think about how to be successful, we often overemphasize the value of a high IQ. Did you know that the strongest predictor of workplace is not IQ (or any other largely immutable trait), but EQ? While it takes time and concentrated effort to raise EQ, there are evidence-informed strategies that can take you to the next level. Mind Works, in conjunction with Bendure & Associates CEO Business Consulting and Coaching, offers emotional intelligence training to individuals and organizations looking to improve EQ (and their bottom line!). With more than 45 combined years of experience, CEO coach Bill Bendure and Dr. Sweeton share key skills in the domains of self-awareness, social awareness, self-regulation, and relationship management!

Chesapeake Energy Corporation has a reputation for being dedicated to employee wellness. In their “Your Life Matters” video series, they provide personal stories and information about a variety of mental health issues. In September of 2013, Chesapeake interviewed Dr. Sweeton about how to recognize the signs of post-traumatic stress disorder.
CFT is a very promising, new treatment approach that has gained popularity (and research backing!) in Europe and Australia. Developed by Dr. Paul Gilbert at University of Derby in Derby (England), CFT integrates knowledge about emotions, trauma, neuroscience, and mindfulness to help clients recover from trauma, reduce guilt and shame, and increase compassion. This brain-based psychotherapy is commonly practiced at Mind Works!
